Although there are no regularly schedule religious services, we do notify members and the community when a Sunday session is scheduled. Most services include time for listening, contemplation, learning and mingling as a community. Below is a basic outline we follow:
The Service to begins with opening words that will set the theme of our worship together. They are drawn from many sources.
Lighting of our Chalice
The lighting of the chalice is an important element or our Worship and is shared by all Unitarian Universalists.
The Higher Power Cannabis Church is happy to have an energetic choir and a talented choir/music director. Our congregation is also fortunate to have in it musicians that share their talents and add inspiration at our services.
Story for all Ages
A story is read that keeps with the theme of the Sunday Service.
Before the Sermon begins, we often have a brief, quiet time for centering.
Sermons are typically delivered by the minister. His sermons cover a wide variety of subjects drawn from both religious and secular sources. Occasionally Services are presented by a guest speakers or from members within our own congregation. Regardless of who is giving the homily, we approach them as informative and spiritually uplifting.
Extinguishing the Chalice
“We extinguish this flame but not the light of truth, the warmth of community, or the fire of commitment. These we carry in our hearts until we are together again.”
Spirit of Life
Our Worship Service often concludes with the congregation sharing in hands held together singing the In The Air Hymn. Following the service members are welcome to coffee, tea and conversation.
